About Colorado Small Claims Court
Small claims in Colorado are filed in County Court and cover disputes up to $7,500. Attorneys are allowed, and if one party hires one, the other side may request extra time to do the same. Colorado's written contract SOL of 6 years is generous for plaintiffs. Filing fees are among the lowest in the country — $31 for small claims and $55 for larger ones. Corporations must be represented by an officer or attorney. An appeal may be taken to a District Court judge.
