Court Filing Fees
These fees are set by the court, not Flash Justice. The exact amount depends on your county and claim amount. Court fees are paid when your documents are filed. If you win your case, you may be able to recover these fees from the defendant.
Process Service
After filing, the defendant must be officially notified ("served") of the lawsuit. You cannot serve the papers yourself—it must be done by an authorized process server.

Why is process service required?
Texas law requires that the defendant be officially notified of the lawsuit by an authorized person (sheriff, constable, or certified process server). This ensures they have proper notice of the case against them.
What does it cost to respond to a lawsuit?
If you were sued in a Texas Justice Court, we draft and file your Answer for $199 flat. There is no court fee for filing an answer. If the plaintiff owes you money too, you can add a counterclaim for $99 more - $298 total - plus the court's counterclaim filing fee, which you see before you pay.
