Why is process service required?

Texas law requires that the defendant be officially notified of the lawsuit by an authorized person (sheriff, constable, or certified process server). This ensures they have proper notice of the case against them.

If you were sued in a Texas Justice Court, we draft and file your Answer for $199 flat. There is no court fee for filing an answer. If the plaintiff owes you money too, you can add a counterclaim for $99 more - $298 total - plus the court's counterclaim filing fee, which you see before you pay.
