Understanding Your Total Costs
When filing a small claims case, there are several fees involved. Here's a complete breakdown:
Flash Justice Service Fee
Our flat fee covers AI-powered guidance, document preparation, electronic court filing, status tracking, and notifications. This is the only fee you pay to Flash Justice.
Court Filing Fees
These fees are set by the court, not Flash Justice. The exact amount depends on your county and claim amount. Court fees are paid when your documents are filed. If you win your case, you may be able to recover these fees from the defendant.
Process Service
After filing, the defendant must be officially notified ("served") of the lawsuit. You cannot serve the papers yourself—it must be done by an authorized process server.
Flash Justice Process Service
$45 - $100 per defendant
We handle everything for you. Our certified process servers deliver the papers, track attempts, and file the required affidavit of service with the court. You'll receive real-time updates and confirmation when service is complete.
