When to Use This Template
- Your employer has not paid your regular wages for one or more pay periods
- You did not receive your final paycheck after leaving or being terminated
- Your employer deducted wages from your paycheck without your written authorization
- You were not paid overtime you believe you are owed (1.5x regular rate for hours over 40 per week under federal law)
After You Send the Letter
- 1Send the letter via certified mail to the employer's HR or payroll department, and keep a copy.
- 2Gather supporting records: pay stubs, time records, direct deposit records, employment agreement, and any communications about your pay.
- 3If unresolved, file a wage claim with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) at twc.texas.gov — this is a free administrative process and is separate from a court claim.
